Carcassonne the Discovery is a stand alone game in the carcassonne family of tile laying games. There are 3 types of terain - (84 landscape tiles) in a mixture of mountains, grasslands & sea with 37 printed cities on the land parts, you can place your followers (only 4) on any of the terain types. This is a stand alone game that goes back to the basics, just followers and nothing else. The basic playing system is the traditional tile laying format, but with only 4 followers, the real skill is in their deployment. You can score on incomplete features and get followers back to start somewhere else.
